                           Las Vegas Report(English)
I could have the chance to go to Las Vegas famous for casino in the USA due to
attending the wedding ceremony for my daughter. That was my main reason to go there.
However in addition, fortunately I was happy to enjoy sightseeing both national parks Zion in
Utah State and Grand Canyon in Arizona State during my stay in America. I was deeply
moved by seeing my daughter in a white wedding dress and I left everything to the
bridegroom in hope of their happiness, good health and prosperity. I could have another
important meaning from this travel. Because I could travel with my son and enjoy drinking
each other for the first in our independent life. Moreover I could experience to make a
congratulatory speech in English boldly in the presence of native speakers. Anyway I had a
good feeling and I was very happy when I was said by Mr.May, American "Your English is
good. I respect you." This meeting with my two children in America make me happy the best
and I thought my late wife also might have been delighted with us. My travel with my son
started on 5th and closed on 10th of July as scheduled.

1. Long Flight to Las Vegas
My son's arrival at the meeting place in the first terminal of Narita airport made me
irritated because he came late. This is the first time to go abroad with my son who lives on
his own with his family as a businessman. His work seems very busy at all times. The travel
agency booked our seat in advance, so we could finish our check-in easily. My son gave me
the seat windowside, so I could enjoy seeing outside. After receiving strict body check, I
managed to go on board to DL284, which took off from Narita airport at 15:40 on 5th of
July as scheduled heading toward Los Angeles for about 10 hours flight. And after flying to
the east into the dark sky at night, I saw the sun shining on the tip of the wing in the
morning. Our airplane landed on Los Angeles International Airport at 09:40 (local time) when
still in the morning of July 5th. We had to transfer to the domestic flight to Las Vegas there,
where we received immigration check and picked out our luggages from the coveyer by
ourself. After this a woman staff from JTB office appeared in front of us and helped us to
transfer the flight including our luggages. After finishing the procedures requested, we waited
for DL4464 flights departing at noon and stayed at the waiting room for about 2 hours and
a half. I confirmed that the time difference between Japan is 16 hours. We flew to Las
Vegas Makcaran international airport by the smaller airplane than before and arrived at 13:
10. We met an attendant from JTB there and she escorted us to the hotel circus circus
and helped us including chech-in procedure. I heard the meaning of "Las Vegas" is "Oasis
Town in the desert "I was surprised at the gigantic tall buildings standing along the streets
that were almost hotels having own amusument facilities and casinos. These nightless
entertainment districts were overflowed with tourists from every parts of the world and
seemed to be the world paradise. After taking a shower, we went on foot to a buffet in
Whyn hotel to take dinner as JTB recommended while receiving heated dusty atmosphere
(App.45℃). As soon as returning to our hotel, we slept soon as if rolling into the bed.
2. Sightseeing to Zion National Park
The next morning we were woken up by the morning call at 6 O'clock and waited for our
car in front of the hotel while eating a big sweet bread and drinking a big bottle of milk.
Around 7 O'clock a Japanese driver appeared and took us to a one-box car. We 10
Japanese crews including a driver started to Zion National Park. Our car kept running
heading toward the northeast for about three hours along the Virgin river and then we
arrived at the museum in Zion National Park surrounded by huge rock mountains looking
strange. We transfered to a shuttle bus with sun roofs to go inside of the park. I was
amazed to see the magnificent rocky mountains standing sharply in front of me. I heard
such sharp rocks are suitable for rock climbers to train by themselves. We got off at the
terminal for the walk way to trail along the river. On the way we saw some lovely squirrels
crossing the front of us and unfortunately got rain so we sheltered under trees and huge
rocks. There was a few grassess such as moss clinging to the rocks and I was told by our
guide that the rocks looked white were formed by limestones and the rocks looked red
contained iron. I understood that the fantastic view was created by the sun light changing in
a day, the water dripping from sandstones was made after spending tens of thousands of
years, and something smelling strange was from sandstones. I and my son were obliged to
return back to the lodge due to raining. Our members except us had been waiting there and
we got lunch box and ate Japanese food. After then all of us took the shuttle bus to the
place of museum without visiting to other sights. We changed to our one-box car there and
started to go back to our hotel in Las vegas. After running for a while, we could see the
buildings standing overthere and arrived at the hotel around 5 O'clock in the evening. After
taking a shower bath, I and my son went a noodle restaurant for dinner by taxi where had
no alcoholic liquors. So we bought some beers and wines available in our hotel and drank
them in our room in celebration of my daughter's wedding .
3. Attending wedding. ceremony
We had the memorial day to attend the wedding ceremony on Saturday, July 7. Thanks to
my daughter's friend, we could reach the Bellagio Hotel, today's ceremony hall by his car
around 11:30. I was surprised at seeing the white and tall building looking like Italian bangalow
with a large pond in front of the hall. There were lots of fountains in a pond performing their
beatiful water dancing show to the music every 15 minutes. In addition, the water of the
fountains at night was illuminated by colorful light and the entrance of the hotel was fully
decorated with gorgeous flowers in the ceiling. There was a room in the right looking like a
botanical garden having beatiful flowers. The ceremony was to be held at the suite room on
the 24 floor where was arranged by her friends in wedding style. My daughter was very
sociable and had a good command to her friends. I was very glad to see her and was proud
of having my daughter. I confirmed the schedule for our wedding ceremony from an electric
signboard hanging on the first floor. We could see surrounding hotels and mountains standing
far away in desert through the windows of our wedding room. The wedding ceremony was
carried out at 5:00 o'clock pm as scheduled. I took my daughter in a wedding dress arm-in-
arm to the bridegroom on the virgin road and handed her to him while wishing her happiness.
Both of bridegroom and bride made an oath before the priest, exchanged ring and signature
each other, and were seen off in a petal shower by all attendants. After then we had a
banquet party including a cake cutting and toasting with champagne. Before toasting, I was
requested to make a congratulatory address so I tried it boldly in my poor English. I felt
uneasy about my speech firstly, however I was glad to be told by Mr.May, American that "
Your Enlish is good and I respect you". The dinner party was to be held at the buffet in the
corner of the first floor, so we all members had to move there. While going to the buffet, my
daughter was paid attention to her looks in a wedding dress as if she was a heroine in a
movie, so I felt happy to escort her. I appreciated to attend this ceremony supported by
their friends and hoped that the couple would be happy and healthy forever.
4.Sightseeing to Grand Canyon West Rim
We got up at 5 O'clock in the morning. and waited for one-box car to Grand Canyon today.
Our driver appeared at 6 O'clock and took us to the car. We picked up other three
Japanese members one by one at their hotels. Our car left Las Vegas around 7 O'clock and
then kept running to the east through roughness field. On the way we could see Hoover dam
for irrigation through the window of our car. After two hours, the scenery surrouding was
changed such that plants like cactus appeared in front. We were obliged to run and bump on
a gravel road not paved through smoky sand for about 30 minutes. I heard this area was
not obtained the permission of pavement from the owner of meadow living near. Presently
we could run smoothly on the paved road again and get a fine feeling as before. Our one-
box car reached at the place, where we got off our car and transfered to a shuttle bus for
taking a tour to the west rim after shopping at a souvenir shop there. The shuttle bus took
us first to the eagle point where we could see the huge rock looking like a gigantic eagle with
wings expanding in the presence of us. I was told that the rock had been respected as a
holy symbol scince old times among Warabai, native tribe. We saw the deep valley stretching
downward up to the Colorado River and took a picture of magnificent landscape as many as
possible. I felt dangerous because there was no fence at the edge of our ground and saw
sign boards warning that "Safety is your responsibility"here and there. Nextly we moved to
the sky walk bridge left that was constructed in 2007 above the valley in the air and
installed a round walk way with a glass floor. We looked down the valley in depth of 1, 200m
and the Colorado River in the bottom excitedly and thrillingly through the glass floor and we
had our pictures taken by a professional and enjoyed seeing the panoramic spectacle .
After then we went around to see the dwelling of the Hualapai, Native American and moved
to the Guano point by bus where we took a lunch on the edge of the Grand Canyon with
uninhibited 360 degree canyon views, hiked up to the highest rock to see breathtaking
panoramic canyon views of the Grand Canyon and Corolado River, and visited the remnants
of a historic tram that stretched 2,700 meters across the canyon to a guano mine. We
overlooked a helicopter looking small far from us that was flying along the valley. On the way
to return to our bus, our guide found a fossil of ammonite in the ground and explained us
that this area was under the sea in old days and was risen afterwards. I thought in the car
returning to our hotel that I was very happy to experience today's tour with our new
relatives. When we reached to our hotel, we took shower and went out by taxi. Because we
were invited by the newly married couple for dinner party at sushi restaurant in Caesars
Palace Hotel where there were a lot of Italian theme parks reproducing its streets and
towns. Above all I was interested in the ceiling which was painted the cloud in the blue sky
as if we were walking outside in the daytime. We could meet other 4 members at the
entrance of the sushi restaurant. It was needless to say that the dinner party tonight
became heating and enjoyable each other.
 5.Good-by Las Vegas
We had the mornig on 9th of July when we had to go back to Japan. We got up early in
the morning because JTB staff would come to pick up us to the airport at 6 O'clock. We
were attended by the same girl from JTB as before to Makcaran international airport and
its terminal. After finishing our check-in, we ate some breads as our breakfast sitting on a
chair. Our DL4818 flight departed to Los Angeles at 08:45 and arrived at 09:53. I spent
times there to read book during three hours for transit. After then, our DL283 flight left
Los Angeles for Japan at 13:00 on schedule aiming at Narita. I wished and prayed from my
heart "Good luck to the newly married couple", and said "Good-by America" while seeing
American big Continent stretching below through my window. (The End)
